The Owl Foundation is a centre for behavioural observation and research, as well as a residence for injured owls. This facility houses between 130 and 150 owls in 48 outdoor compounds in two acres of natural surroundings. Over 120 owls arrive every year from across Canada. Owls that recover completely and can support themselves in the wild are released whence they came. Those which cannot are added to the behavioural research program and encouraged to breed. This facility is internationally recognized and is one which ELSA has consistently supported over the years.
