For 5 years from 1983 to 1988, ELSA supported the re-introduction of the Bald Eagle to the Lake Erie region of Southern Ontario. With funding from ELSA, the Canadian Wildlife Service and the Ministry of Natural Resources captured 30 young bald eagles in north western Ontario, and relocated and reared the Bald Eagles at Long Point, on Lake Erie. At last count, 10 breeding pairs have been sighted.
